SUMMARY:Theresa’s Research Foundation’s 9th Annual MBC Research Conference
DESCRIPTION:The mission of this conference is to bring together a diverse audience to create a collaborative research environment with a long term goal of developing curative approaches for metastatic breast cancer patients. \nBackgroundThe Metastatic Breast Cancer Research Conference (MBCRC) was established in 2014 as an annual medical conference for metastatic breast cancer by Theresa’s Research Foundation with leadership from Dr. Matthew Ellis and Dr. Danny Welch. The specific focus on metastatic disease is based on a major unmet clinical need (incurability); thereby distinguishing this conference from other breast cancer-centered conferences.

SUMMARY:Seed and Soil: In Vivo Models of Metastasis
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to join us at the 3rd joint EACR-MRS Conference on Seed and Soil: In Vivo Models of Metastasis. This is a joint conference organised by the European Association for Cancer Research (EACR) and Metastasis Research Society (MRS). Metastasis formation is responsible for over 90% of cancer patient deaths\, largely due to the general ineffectiveness of therapies against detectable metastatic tumors. There is a crucial need to mechanistically understand the cellular\, tissue and whole-body processes driving metastasis formation in order to identify effective therapeutic strategies. This conference will give an in-depth overview of our current knowledge on cancer\, stromal\, and metabolism-centred mechanisms promoting metastasis formation presented by world-leading researchers in the field. The meeting will conclude with a discussion forum on how to translate emerging findings on metastasis into patient benefit.

SUMMARY:2021 International Biennial Congress of the Metastasis Research Society (MRS)
DESCRIPTION:The goal of the Biennial Congress is to assemble leadership in the field of metastasis research and treatment and today’s most promising young investigators in a setting where they can together discuss experimental and clinical information known about metastasis and focus on elucidating new opportunities for more effective intervention strategies. We will highlight the state of metastasis research today and drive future breakthroughs. \nThe scope of Congress will include biology\, basic and translational research\, clinical trials\, methodologies\, big data\, patient impact\, and policies.  This Congress is unique as it will include over 60 speakers presenting research ranging from single-cell analyses through in-patient clinical studies all focused on metastasis. \nPatients are welcome to attend and patient MRS members will receive the same discount on Congress registration as scientist/clinician members.

SUMMARY:6th Advanced Breast Cancer (ABC6) International Consensus Conference
DESCRIPTION:The International Consensus Conference for Advanced Breast Cancer (ABC) has established itself as a major international breast cancer conference. Its primary aim is the development of international consensus guidelines for the management of ABC patients. These guidelines are based on the most up-to-date evidence and can be used to guide treatment decision making in many different health care settings globally\, with the necessary adaptations due to different access to care. \nWe believe that health professionals working closely together with patient advocates and with the strong support of media can raise awareness about the needs and challenges faced by this traditionally underserved and forgotten group of patients. ABC also aims to identify research priorities based on the most important areas of unmet need\, analyse and discuss available data to provide the most accurate management recommendations\, as well as influence policy makers and funding bodies and ultimately improve standards of care\, survival and quality of life. Research and education\, with accurate usage of available knowledge\, throughout the world\, are key to achieve these goals. \nTravel scholarships are available for patient advocates!
