Keeping Cancer at Bay: What Researchers Are Learning About Recurrence

November 15, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm EST

After you finish chemotherapy and other full-body treatments, what happens next? This can be a stressful time, when many people worry about the possibility of recurrence, or a return of breast cancer.

During this program, our panelists will share what we know about why breast cancer recurs, which tests doctors use to monitor you for recurrence and what you can do if you are at a high risk for recurrence – including exploring clinical trials and changes you can make in your everyday life to support your good health.

Hear from our expert, Dr. DeMichele of the Abramson Cancer Center, who is designing clinical trials on recurrence, as well as people with early-stage breast cancer who have taken part in research studies. This program is the first in a series on recurrence; the second program will be offered as a webinar in December on managing fears of recurrence.
